Simrad, Patti Marine Partner on Vessel Bridge Suite

|

Simrad Commercial, in partnership with Patti Marine Enterprises, has announced the latest vessel commissioned for the Truex clamming fleet is outfitted with a complete suite of Simrad Commercial marine electronics. Seawatcher II, a 152-foot clamming vessel, features two Simrad NSO evo2 processors driving five 18.5-inch monitors, an AP70 Autopilot, Halo-4 and Halo-6 Pulse Compression Radar systems and two SonarHub sonar processing systems.

The design of the Seawatcher  II is based on an original concept developed in partnership with the Truex family in 2003. The original namesake, the 134-foot Seawatcher I, was the first aft house clam vessel with integrated and stylized stacks. The new, larger vessel was designed to carry nearly 200 cages of fresh clams from George’s Banks in the Atlantic Ocean to New Bedford, Mass. Seawatcher II is also the first ABS-class clamming vessel ever constructed.

A perfect solution for coastal fishing vessels and workboats, the NSO evo2 offers a distributed multi-function display system for integrated charting, echosounder, radar, autopilot and more. The NSO evo2 is ideally suited for professional mariners, typically suited for boats 35 feet (10m) or longer.

The Simrad AP70 is the company’s flagship pilot controller, embedded with the most comprehensive technology developed from more than 60 years of experience and proven performance. This state-of-the-art, commercial-grade autopilot combines an unrivalled adaptive auto-steering system with a bright and clear, color display and a user interface designed by captains for captains.

Simrad Halo Pulse Compression Radar is the world’s first high-performance solid-state, open-array radar system with pulse compression technology. Combining the advantages of Broadband Radar  and traditional pulse radar systems, Halo provides navigational visibility and awareness, as close as 20-feet, within the pulse radar’s short-range “blind spot,” where once only Broadband Radar could operate — all while offering exceptional long-range performance up to 72 nautical miles.

SonarHub performance modules provide a plug-and-play network solution that drives today’s latest echosounder and imaging technology to help identify productive fishing and clamming areas. Offering a powerful performance advantage in any situation, the module’s CHIRP sonar provides high-definition detail to depths of 3,500 feet; while StructureScan HD functionality delivers a picture-like view to the sides and beneath a vessel to help locate potential fishing and clamming areas.
