Navies Upgrade to OSI’s ECPINS Warship 6.2

What do the Royal Navy, Royal Australian Navy, Royal New Zealand Navy, Royal Danish Navy, Royal Netherlands Navy and the Portuguese Navy have in common? For one, each will upgrade to OSI Maritime Systems’ ECPINS Warship 6.2 naval navigation and tactical software solution.

ECPINS is an advanced Warship Electronic Chart Display and Information System (WECDIS), with military capabilities beyond the NATO WECDIS STANAG 4564 standards.

STANAG 4564 defines the primary function of WECDIS, which is to contribute to safe navigation and to enhance the conduct of warfare.

“OSI’s customer base continues to benefit from ECPINS as their chosen warship navigation and tactical software application,” said Ken Kirkpatrick, President & CEO. “There is clearly value in operating with the most widely used Warship ECDIS that is compliant to NATO and international maritime standards, and independently certified against STANAG 4564.”

OSI has received Marine Equipment Directive (MED) Type Approval certification from DNV GL for ECPINS against new International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards for ECDIS.  These international maritime standards are required to be met under the NATO WECDIS STANAG 4564.
