The Questus Backstay model can be mounted in two basic configurations: radome mounted forward of the backstay, or raydome mounted aft of the backstay. The standard stainless steel support tube can be located forward of the backstay or aft of the backstay.( Can also fit around the backstay with different tube configuration sold separately.) Does not require modification to the vessel or rigging (sailboats with hydraulic backstay adjusters can only use fore or aft postions for support tube). Questus systems are innovative in design and aesthetically pleasing while maintaining the graceful lines of the boat. For sailboat back stay mounts, the radar antenna mount torque loads are transmitted through the Questus hydraulic unit, down the Stainless steel pole to the deck. The cast base plate has a hole to carry the electrical cable through the deck to the radar mount.
